Omagh Uniform Exchange and Support
I am writing to you to ask for help from you and your school community.
Omagh Uniform Exchange is entering it's third year of operation and we will aim to help as many families as we can reduce the cost of returning to school. Last year alone, we assisted 2000 families with getting their children ready for school. We had pre-schoolers getting their first uniform to final year students preparing for adulthood and everything in-between. All of these children received their uniforms free of charge because of the generosity of our community in donating pre-loved uniforms.
The cost of living crisis is hitting families very hard in this area and already we have a steady stream of uniform requests for September 2022. Our service relies entirely on the generosity of the community in donating items they no longer need and this year, we are hopeful that schools will help us spread the word about our service through their community and act as a collection point for donations.
I have attached a few graphics that you are free to use in school and on your social media accounts to let your community know about us and hopefully encourage them to donate uniforms they no longer need.
Our service is available to everyone. Anyone who asks, will get what they need. There is no hierarchy of need and there are no questions asked. There is no requirement to donate in order to receive. It is an honesty based system that has been very successful in reaching out to those who need it.
We will be accepting donations at St. Joseph's Hall, Church Street, Omagh on Friday 1st July and Monday 4th July
We look forward to working with your pupils and their families over the summer. Many thanks for your support of the Uniform Exchange.
