Halloween Spooktacular!
We had a great day in school today celebrating Halloween and all things spooktacular! Everyone was in the Halloween spirit and dressed for the occasion, teachers included! We had such a fantastic mix of costumes and must thank parents for sending children in looking fantastic. In the classrooms there were lots of fun and games sandwiched either side of a sing-a-long with Mrs Sweeney!
Foundation stage were making tasty chocolate apples in class and yummy witches hats with a surprise inside! Everyone had a go at spooky twister and bowling and designing some pumpkins. The children sang spooky Halloween songs with Mrs Sweeney. The children performed on the catwalk to showcase their costumes. There was an exciting visit from some famous witches who cast a spell on everyone. The day was finished with a Halloween Dance. there will be some tired witches and superheroes tonight.
Primary 3-4 heard a funny story today called Winnie's New Computer! They enjoyed talking about how Winnie's Spell Book made a magic journey back home after it had been taken by the dustman! The class also enjoyed making an agamograph pumpkin/night scene and a flapping bat. Pupils finished off with an afternoon party, sweet treats and a spooky Halloween class disco!
KS2 had lots of fun. They made chocolate apples and ate them whilst still hot, dug through jelly for some sweets and even had a go at sticking their hands into a mystery box filled with some... delights! Not everyone was brave enough it should be noted! In the afternoon they had a go at catching apples hanging from string, bobbing apples and even managed to throw a few shapes at a Halloween disco!
Well done to everyone for having such a great day and enjoying the fun at school. Enjoy the holidays next week and stay safe. Remember to never mess around near fireworks, with sparklers or near bonfires.
