Financial support during COVID 19
During these times many families can be struggling financially as Covid 19 has had major implications for workers.
I have been informed about emergency funding Barnardo's in Strabane had available for families who may find this lockdown financially harder than others.
Shauna Devine from Barnardo's sent me the following information in regards to the funding.
We cover Castlederg, Newtownstewart, Plumbridge, Dunamanagh, Artigarvan, Ballymagorry, Magheramason, Sion Mills, Glebe and Strabane town. The surrounding rural areas are also included in relation to the smaller villages.
Barnardo’s Emergency Fund can make applications for families to access a £40 food voucher and either a £40 electricity top up (meter customer’s only) or a £40 phone top up. There is also support that can provided to children and young people to support their emotional health and wellbeing and activities for families to complete together. It is a finite pot of money so if people who are in real need could be prioritised.
If you need to access this emergency funding, email Shauna directly shauna.devine@barnardos.org.uk.
or if you would like some support with the application contact 07738050071. (Mary McNicholl, Educational Officer, CHILD Project )
Please make the call, people are there to help and funding is available!
