Catholic Schools Week
Service in our Family Community ( Grandparents)
Today our Catholic School is called to celebrate grandparents. Grandparents are a special gift in our lives. They see the goodness in us, and they teach us important lessons about life and about faith. Grandparents teach us how to pray and how to trust in God that all will be well. We are called to care for our grandparents and to help them, remember them and pray for them. When we return the love that they show us, we are putting ourselves at their service.
For many children their grandparents may have departed and on this day they can think of their grandparents fondly at this time. If they are too young to remember their grandparents, parents can share stories about their parents. Alternatively children can think of another significant adult in their life eg - God mother/ father, aunt, uncle etc to remember this day.
Catholic Schools Week - Service in our School Community. Today we are asked to think about how we serve each other in our Catholic School. Jesus teaches us how we can do this by following the golden rule': treat others as you would like to be treated. Today we remember to serve one another with patience, kindness and support as children of God.
